Release Notes & Changelog

Below you can see every minor and major change made to Suffrago over our development period.

The global release of Suffrago. Following feedback from users during our beta testing, now anyone can create a Forum which enables them to hear and act on the voice of the people.

It became clear that people wanted areas and the ability to raise what they wanted in an area focused on such issues. So we made it possible for anyone to do this; whilst maintaining the previous elected official communication.

As part of this the entire structure and implementation of Suffrago has been changed to make the technology industry, sector, and cause agnostic. Putting the power in everyone's hands.

Features & Functionalities

These are additions and alterations to the way in which Suffrago works to make your voices heard.

  •     - Forums: These are where conversations happen on Suffrago. Users can submit statements outside of Forums, however Forums are where specific topics or issues can be discussed. Any user on Suffrago can create a Forum, so anyone can understand the voice of the people about what matters to them.
  •     - Conversations: Previously called questions, now Forum owners can choose from multiple response options rather than only Likert based options previously available. Creators of conversations can also now provide "contexts" which enable information to be presented at the same time as providing voting options. Users can also comment on Conversations directly, as with previous versions of Suffrago.
  •     - Bulletins: These serve as "medium form" content, where Forum owners can create updates and provide information to their community. These Bulletins – whilst not "votable" – can be commented on by users and processed by Suffi.
  •     - Persona: Your "Profile" on Suffrago and one of they ways we make sure people can remain anonymous on Suffrago, whilst making the insights generated actionable for those who want to act on the voice the people.
  •     - Pulse: This is the way in which Suffrago enables users to understand the dozens, hundreds, or thousands to one conversation that typically happen online. We analyse all comments and statements submitted on Suffrago to generate the insights needed for understanding. Provided at an Application, Forum, and Conversation/Bulletin level – with differences in outputs depending upon the type – Pulse can provide four (4) different outputs each enabling a different level of understanding.
  •     - Tribes: A part of Pulse, however deserving of its own update. Tribes are Suffrago's way of enabling direct understanding of statements, whilst preserving the anonymity of users; so what people stay on Suffrago stays private but actionable. Tribes are created across 12 emotional dimensions and contain representative statements created by Suffi to help better understand what people are saying.
  •     - Rewards: Each activity on Suffrago now generates "Influence Points" (IP), this IP is tracked and in future versions will be redeemable for rewards.
  •     - Discover: The way in which users can find content they are interested in.
  •     - Suffi: Our AI engine – Suffi – now works in the background to analyse statements as they are submitted rather than on a schedule; with more functionality planned.
  •     - Anonymous Voting: We have made it possible for people to vote anonymously on Suffrago, so if they feel that they don't want to create an account immediately they can still express their view.

Content Updates

Updates made to the pages of Suffrago

  •     - Hub Page Redesign: We have redesigned the "hub" when you are signed into Suffrago, making it easier to find the different areas of Suffrago.
  •     - Onboarding: We have essentially removed onboarding in favour of the "Welcome to Suffrago" Forum, where users have an option of visiting after signing up.
  •     - Website Redesign: To accommodate the evolution of the product offering, the entire website has been redesigned.
  •     - Constituency Forums: We have created 650 forums – paid for by Suffrago – which allow residents to raise issues in their local community that they want their elected official to hear. As MPs join Suffrago they will be given access to make it so they can hear directly from the people they represent.
  •     - Constituency Dashboards: Following user feedback we have removed these in favour of more focused Bulletin based content. Whilst valuable they were quite difficult to understand, and this functionality will be explored as a standalone offering in the future.

Basic Features

Maybe not the most exciting of things, but critical to the infrastructure and functioning of Suffrago.

  •     - Forum Privacy Controls: Forum owners can choose to make the contents private and unaccessible; doing so removes the comments from the Application level Pulse.
  •     - Forum Invitations: Forum owners can send invitations to users so they can join the conversation.
  •     - Forum Administration: Forum owners can make registered users of Suffrago administrators or contributors so they can help create Conversations and Bulletins, as well as always see the results of discussions held in the Forum.
  •     - Identity Verification: We have implemented optional identity verification for everyone who wants to vote or comment on Suffrago. Creating a Forum requires identity verification to ensure real people are hosting real conversations.
  •     - Payment: Payment processing implementation via Stripe.
  •     - Sign In Redirection: Following comments around accessibility of content after signing in; now users are redirected to the page they signed in from, i.e. Conversations and Bulletins, should the content require signed in users in order to interact.
